Chairperson
The Dumfries and Galloway Tackling Poverty and Inequalities Partnership is seeking a voluntary Chairperson to lead its work in delivering the current 2021–2026 strategy and help shape the next one for 2027–2032.
The Chair will guide the Partnership’s meetings, support four sub-groups, ensure progress is made, and represent the Partnership at key events. This role requires strong leadership experience, ideally in the public or third sector, and the ability to work with a wide range of people including volunteers and senior officials.
Remit
The Poverty and Inequalities Partnership remit is to:
- drive forward the Community Planning Poverty and Inequalities Strategy through a shared Action Plan
- work on and develop collaborative projects that tackle poverty and inequalities
- share advice from a "lived experience" perspective
- access expertise from other areas and at national level and share our work with them
- identify any hidden barriers to access and participation and ways of overcoming them
- create opportunities for engagement between partner organisations and people experiencing poverty
- act as a forum for consultation, engagement and information exchange
- take a partnership approach to the monitoring and evaluation of the shared Action Plan reporting to the Community Planning Partnership Board
